SPORTS MASSAGE
When performing a sports massage the therapist will probably use deep tissue massage techniques among some others.
Deep tissue massage is a technique used to treat deep layers of the muscle to relieve tension and pain. During deep tissue massage, therapist uses slow and firm pressure to target tissue surrounding muscles such as tendons and fascia. This type of massage is widely used by those with sports injuries and chronic pain.
If you use it regularly and with the right therapist, deep tissue massage can help to heal specific problems such as muscle spams, strain injuries and many sports injuries in general.
Before you start your massage you should talk with the therapist about your overall health condition and the area you want to treat. Deep tissue massages are individually tailored to the patient’s need and usually last between 60 and 90 minutes.
The therapist usually stars with a lighter touch to warm up the muscles. Once your muscles are prepared, the therapist will start with deeper strokes to the target area.. During the massage, the therapist will use fingers, hands and even the elbow to achieve needed pressure.
How often you should have deep tissue massage depends on the conditions and problems that you treat but, usually, once a week is enough to allow the muscles to recover between sessions.
We are also fully trained and insure to provide a deep tissue massage with some tools such as a stainless steel Gua Sha.
We only use organic grapeseed oil at the studio and CBD oil if required.
The price for one hour session is £70 for a regular deep tissue massage (ROM included) and £75 with Gua Sha techniques. Please, kindly add an extra £5 if CBD oil is applied.
